The distinctive awareness about quality has always guided all activities in our diary since its pioneer days. The learned milker Johann Egenberger acquired in 1899 an agricultural property in Thierhaupten. He laid the foundation for the aspiring milk processing firm, which was transformed under the management of Franz Egenberger into a highly efficient and modern enterprise.
A new chapter in the history of the enterprise began with the installation of a drum drier in the year 1963. Thereby a new line of production was created, which counted for quite a long time as one of the supporting pillars of dairy industry: the processing of skim milk into skim milk powder.
With the installation of a spray drier in 1971 the capacity of skim milk powder production was considerably increased. Another branch, prosperous for the company, was established in 1970: The production of milkreplacer. The mixture of whey powder, fat concentrates, skim milk powder, vitamins and minerals found as a high value calf-starter an excellent market in very short time. The milkreplacer production was modernised and enlarged by a new silo and mixing complex, which was put in operation in 1985. To shut down the drying equipment in 1993 meant for the company a further step to concentrate on the animal feedstuff sector and the commerce of food products. A new silo complex allows wholesale clients to load their silo trucks directly with compound feed.

Healthy animals are the base of success and efficiency for any breeding ore fattening farm enterprise. Health has a lot to do with correct nutrition. Experienced enterprises therefore confide in the high value milkreplacer: "egenberger-Milch". The milkreplacer can be fed immediately after weaning without any problems caused by the change from colostrums. It is fully soluble and ready for use in automatic drinker. The ideal temperature for mixing is between 40 to 45 degrees Celsius and a concentration of 100 to 125 grams per litre of liquid is recommended. The good tolerance ensures an optimal feed conversion and therefore an excellent weight gain ratio. Bases for a high quality milk substitute are the carefully selected raw materials, which have to satisfy the strict quality standards of franz egenberger GmbH Milchwerk. High importance is therefore given to laboratory control. Milk powder, whey powder, vegetable fats, minerals and additives are analysed with modern methods for their components, nutrition content and non-existence of residues, This strict standard applies to all products of the enterprise. The permanent meticulous quality control in the laboratory is the guarantee therefore, that only a high value product is delivered Hygiene is an essential criterion, which accompanies the whole production process up to the packing. A modern sack packing installation guarantees clean and rapid packing of the quality milk for calf and piglet.
Healthy breeding and feeding are the preconditions for best meat and milk quality. And they are today in higher demand than ever, as all of us profiting from it. The continued increase of customer's exigent demand for milk and meat products, as well as an increased sensibility in animal husbandry, means for enterprises aware of their responsibility to value highest quality in feeding.
The enterprise is certificated with to ISO 9001:2000, HACCP, Quality and safety (QS) and other regional certificates of quality.

The franz egenberger GmbH Milchwerk has its main outlets in Europe. Sales-operation is mainly managed by the marketing-department in Thierhaupten. The important link with the client is the perfect and smooth logistic. The optimum storage and an efficient fleet of vehicles facilitate flexible response to customer's demands.
